Christmas Parties

9th December 2019 By traceypearce

Reception, Years 1 & 2 will have their party on the afternoon of Wednesday 18th December and Years 3-6 will be on the afternoon of Thursday 19th December.  We would be grateful for donations of food, both sweet and savoury, which should be sent in the morning of the party.  Children should come to school in their uniforms and bring their party clothes in a bag, clearly marked with their name.  They will be given time to change before the parties.

Christmas Performances

9th December 2019 By traceypearce

Our Christmas Performances this year are on Tuesday 17th December at 10am and 1:30pm.  Tickets are £1 each and are available from the School Office.  Reception and Key Stage 1 pupils (Years 1 and 2) will be singing a medley of songs and Key Stage 2 pupils (Years 3-6) will perform ‘Stable Manners.’  All money raised from ticket sales will go into our school fund which is used to buy resources for the children that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.

Helping Children in Uganda

3rd March 2016 By traceypearce

Brenda from ‘Brenda’s Promise Kindergarten Uganda’ visited our school on Monday 29th February to tell us all about the schools she is helping to build in Uganda. The children there have no schools or resources and we are going to try and help them by donating books, pens, pencils etc. Our School Council are hoping to organise this at their next meeting.  Take a look at some of the pictures that Brenda brought for us showing how the school had been built and some of the children from the Village who now benefit from the new school:

Here we are in assembly learning about how the children love in Africa and how Brenda is helping them:

We held a raffle at our Reward Assembly and Easter Bonnet Parade to raise money to help the children. We raised a grand total of £50 which was much appreciated. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets.

New School Name Announced!

5th February 2016 By traceypearce

As you may well know, Sherburn Hill & Sherburn Village schools amalgamated on 1st September to become one school.  After consultation with parents, pupils and staff the Governors have met and agreed that the name of our new amalgamated school will be ‘Sherburn Primary School!’ We still need a new logo and to complete the legal process but will be using our new name with immediate effect.
